Easy Handling and Identification Our 3M Double Coated Tape 469 is a 5.5 mil, red tinted tape with a premium double coated tissue carrier. The carrier is mounted on a 72 lb. densified kraft paper liner for ease of deployment and handling. Additionally, this tape features good initial adhesion and will bond to a variety of similar and dissimilar materials including low surface energy plastics and a variety of paper grades and thicknesses. This tape performs well in high temperature applications.3M double coated tape 469 offers very good heat resistance. In short term intervals it can withstand 350°F/180°C. For long term applications, this tape will perform in temperatures up to 200°F/84°C. Results may vary depending on machine and web tensions, nature of paper surface and application pressure. The design of the adhesive combined with the film carrier results in a balance between shear strength, high initial adhesion and temperature performance. The formulation gives the acrylic adhesive a consistently strong bond across a range of temperatures. In short term intervals, it can withstand 350°F/180°C. For long term applications, this tape will perform in temperatures up to 200°F/84°C. A thin tissue carrier between the adhesive layers improves the handling and strength of the tape.
